Impacto de las prácticas profesionales en el aprendizaje a lo largo de la vida y el desarrollo de competencias profesionales

This research aimed to investigate students' preferences regarding professional internships to develop specific professional competencies for life. In the current educational model, Tec21, internships are voluntary, as academic programs incorporate challenge-based learning components. Therefore, students who pursue internships on their own initiative seek to acquire tools for lifelong learning (LLL) that complement their professional preparation. We conducted an electronic survey among fifth- and sixth-semester students, using a representative sample, to collect the data. The findings indicate that, beyond academic challenges and other curricular elements embedded in each academic unit, professional internships provide a valuable opportunity for students to enhance their profiles before entering the workforce. These experiences allow students to apply academic knowledge, gain practical experience, build confidence, and develop key skills for their professional transition. Later, these experiences will impact their employability.
